Dengue Fever Cure using Tawa Tawa aka Gatas Gatas weed
Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a much feared disease caused by a virus carried via mosquito bites. Dengue causes hemorrhaging of the internal organs to a point that it causes death. Western medicine, the common hospital does not have a cure for Dengue. They merely say that their treatment is supportive and all you need to do is pray that the dengue victim is strong enough.
But here in the Philippines, many people know and have attested to the fact that they and many others have been cured of dengue via a simple weed. This weed is called Gatas Gatas in the province of Leyte. But in Butuan City they call the same weed Tawa Tawa.
A case of a nephew Jeremy at 7 years old came down with dengue fever. Immediately, relatives in Cagayan de Oro City who knew about the dengue cure Tawa Tawa sent via airplane a few handfuls of the weed. In 24 hours, my nephew was cured.
My aunt Portia is the known herbalist in the government office NHA in Quezon City. There are lots of Tawa Tawa weeds growing around the NHA compound. Many NHA employees who have had trouble with dengue fever in their family have gone to Auntie Portia for help with the dengue cure. She picks a bunch of the Tawa Tawa weeds and gives it to the grateful employee that promptly cures every dengue case.
We planted a couple of Tawa Tawa weeds in our own garden. Just in case.
My auntie Portia’s recipe for curing Dengue Fever using Tawa Tawa weeds is as follows:
- Take 5 to 6 full whole Tawa Tawa plants.
- Cut off the roots
- Wash and clean
- Fill your boiling pot with clean water.
- Boil the Tawa Tawa for 1 (one) minute in a slow rolling boil.
- Pour the tawa tawa water and let cool.
- Let the dengue fever victim drink only the tawa tawa water for 24 hours.
- Sip 1 to 1.5 glasses of tawa tawa water every 1 hour
The internal hemorrhaging will stop and the dengue fever will be cured after 24 hours.
That’s it. Simple cure. Give it early enough. Tawa Tawa does not interfere with your western medical treatments. You can slip it in through to the patient in a water bottle. You do not need to ask permission from your doctor.
Here is a photo of the Tawa Tawa or some people call Gatas Gatas:

I honestly do not know.
I live in the Philippines and the scourge here is Dengue fever from the mosquitoes.
Lyme disease is something we only read about in the USA or Europe.

on 06 Jun 2007 at 9:34 am 4.eesc said …
Oh my, I never thought about who sells these gatas gatas weeds. Probably nobody sells them. They are usually seen as pesky-good-for-nothing weeds.
We grow a few in our backyard just-in-case we need it.
My aunty has lots of these weeds around her office.
My grandparents have these weeds growing around their house in the provinces.
You could try the usual herbal outlets in Kamias Quezon City and Quiapo, Manila. Just bring the photo above. If they don’t have it, request for it.
I have no idea if these weeds grow in California.
I doubt there is ongoing trade about these weeds because they just grow everywhere, you just need to spot them.
What you could do if you need them is for your friends or relatives to pick them fresh for you when you need it and put it on a plane or send via door to door fedex.

Dear Sir/madam,
Topic : Cure for Dengue
There is a cure for dengue in Malaysia.
Currently in Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Ananthan Krishnan of AK Pharmacy of Naturopathy has conducted clinical case studies with Dengue patients over the years and has had 100% success rate.
Professor Dr. Ananthan Krishnan uses spices, beans, cereals and vitamins to heal people. It is all in capsule form. So far with all the dengue patients who have taken these products have been discharged from hospital within the first 48 hours upon consumption of these spices.
Professor has documented evidence that taking these tablets will improve the blood platelets of a dengue patient.

Hi Anthony,
Just copy the picture I have of the Tawa Tawa weed. Take the picture to a photo developer and have it printed. The tawa tawa are just weeds that grow wherever. You can ask any knowledgeable farmer, plant seller, gardener where you can find these weeds and I am pretty sure they grow in Davao City.
That picture is one I took outside my grandparents’ house in Butuan City, we’ve got lots of those weeds around Metro Manila too.

Nakangiti yung doctor sa amin after that day. Maganda daw yung CBC result ng pamangkin ko. From 60, tumaas ito hanggang 130. So ayun ok na daw sya sa dengue at pwede na namin syang ilabas. umabot kami ng 1 week sa hospital.
Thanks sa site na ito at sa friend ko. Ok na sya at one week na syang nakalabas. Magandang gift sa amin this christmas and makasurvive sya sa dengue.
More Power!

I would like to thank this site for posting such important information regarding dengue fever, last Jan 22 my husband was diagnosed with dengue fever he started getting high fever last Jan 20 and on Jan 21 we went to St Lukes and they started monitoring his platelets every day his initial platelet count was 162,000 then dropped to 118,000 then eventually dropped to 100,000. I was so desperate to seek in the net what can possibly be the cure for this virus and I chanced upon this site. I went to Ms Portia Coso of NHA and she gave me “tawa-tawa” weeds went home and immediately boiled them and gave it to my husband before bedtime. On the next day when my husband had his CBC again we were really very thankful for the results because his platelet count rose to 117,000. Thanks to “tawa-tawa” as my husband said “mapapatawa” ka talaga sa resulta kapag uminom ka ng “tawa-tawa”.

My daughter had a very high fever last week & Drs. said it was a plain systenic virus infection. My friend’s daughter just died of dengue so I had to take precautions on our own.It was sister who from Cagayan de Oro who sent me via LBC the tawa-tawa leaves. Her cbc was 208 on the first week of the height of her fever then down to 90 yhen that was when the drs said that she had to be admitted. While inside cbc down to 70.I let her drink boiled kamote top leaves, goji & gatorade while waiting for the tawa-tawa. Her platelets went up very gradually to 147. Then she was discharge. At home I gave her boiled tawa-tawa leaves for her platelets to rise higher to normal levels. I planted the the rest of the platns my sister sent just in case we mightneed it in the future. I found out that we have some tawatawa plants as well but they arent that lush. Those that cane from cag de oro are a lot bigger & looks healthier.

Maybe, the testimonies of those who have used it and got healed pehaps should be gathered and submitted to the DOH. If the attending physician can endorse the testimony, that would be very great.

Hello. When I was in High School, I studied Tawa-tawa and its effects to the platelet count in mice. We separated the leaves, flowers, roots and stem. The most effective part of the plant with regards to the incresing platelet count in mice was the leaves. But I think that all the parts of the plant are greatly useful.
I have also heard that Euphorbia hirta or Tawa-tawa has some negative effects on the body. I’ve read it in a website. Please research some more and post them here so that we would all be knowledgeable with this. Thanks.

since i was a high school student back late 90’s i already knew what “gatas-gatas” can do. im from leyte and many people there knows about the plant. back then i would bring the extract to my friends who got dengue and they always recover.
last dec 2006 i got dengue. for one week i was really really sick i didnt go to the hospital thinking that it was only a flu. when the rashes showed up, i went to up infirmary to be checked. the blood test showed i only have 22 blood platelet count. the doctor got angry at me because i didnt come earlier. he arranged for my transfer to a bigger hospital immediately. i ended up riding a jeepney to east avenue, got my blood retested and i have to wait for 3hrs for the result (only took 45mins in up dil infirmary). while i waited i went outside and picked up gatas gatas along the streets (it grew at the cracks along the pedestrian walk) and boiled it at the apartment. went back to get the tests and the count was already 13, they confined me at the dengue ward. 2days later i walked out of the hospital not so psyched about my “second life”. the get well soon cards and food from my friends was good though. the doctor said that maybe the weakest strain (out of 4 if i remembered it right) caught me that’s why i didnt bleed and if i get dengue again it would be my last. that’s nice, next time i have dengue i can really test if gatas gatas works. hehehe. ill post here again if that happens.
i have a friend who got dengue last week friday he is in feu hospital right now. ill try to give him gatas gatas tomorrow if his parents would allow. his platelet count as of 12midnight was only 11.

I just returned from the Philippines and was unfortunate to develop a sudden onset of fever in the tail end of the trip. On the third day if my fever, I went to a doctor and all labs were normal. The doctor said that usually symptoms of dengue become more apparent after the 4th or 5th day. On the fourth day, my platelet went down to 126. I opted to go home and return the following day to the hospital to have my platelets checked again. Alas, it has dropped to 33 and my rashes had started to appear. I was admitted the same day. My mom gave me tawa tawa during the entire hospitalization. Even when my platelets went as far down as 21, I did not need any transfusion and on the fourth day of hospitalization, my platelets upped to 100. My mom had also received advise that durian increases platelets and even when the hospital had strict policies against pungent fruits, I ate my mom’s smuggled durian seeds inthe bathroom. That may have helped too.My next vacation, I am showering with insect repellant every day. Dengue is a very scary ordeal. If you are an international traveller like me, do not push to travel until all symptoms are stable. The rest of your life can wait. DO not gamble your health.

I was able to encounter such plant and its medicinal value when the child of our helper had a confirmed dengue fever and she was advised to get at least 2 bags of blood plasma in ordered to replace the lowering platelet count. I called up my mother in Bacolod City to ask her the telephone number of my friend in the Red Cross for us to have a reservation of the blood plasma in Red Cross Iloilo since the stocks in Roxas City is depleted. Fortunately my mother told me to try the TAWA TAWA plant instead. And indeed to my surprise the platets increased in just a few hours and there was no need for blood transfusion to be done. I had advised some people already about this and I had the same result. I am hoping to go into research on this since it can help areas who had an endemic disease of dengue.

Hi!a lot of my kababayans in mindanao can attest the effectiveness of this tawa-tawa weeds.in fact right now my cousin is in the hospital and his platelet dropped down to the level of 20thou.only which is very low.And he has to be transfused with platelet as ordered by the doctor. And since that this tawa-tawa weeds is very known in our place in its effectivity in the cure of dengue,my aunt brought a bunch of this weeds with her in manila since my cousin is now admitted in one of the hospital there. So far as of the latest news my family told me,it is really working. And he still drink it continously until now.
If this really can cure dengue why not let the Department of Health know this weeds so that proper study can be done in doing so the whole Philippines can start using this weeds as a treatment of this horrific disease that already taken a lot of our kababayans lives.I think you have to do something not only posting this info.thru the net because we have a lot of kababyans who do’nt have an access thru the net. This breakthrough has to be published in order to bring awareness to all Filipinos in doing so many lives will be save.
I am very much bothered because in our country this dengue is always an epedimic. And the fact is only few knew this weeds.
I do hope that you will reach out to the public with this information. And hopefully no more life will be wasted because of DENGUE.

Hello everyone,
I for one could attest to the efficacy of this wonder weeds the “tawa-tawa”.
Few years back when my daughter was seven years old,
she had fever. Her platelet count dropped down very
very low and was diagnosed to have dengue fever. I continued to monitor her temperature, however, I also believe that tawa-tawa weeds could helped her. I went
to mom’s and asked her to send me tawa-tawa leaves.
My mother gave me a bunch of tawa-tawa weeds, which
I boiled and used it as my daughter’s drink. Since my little girl would not like the smell and taste of it,
I mixed it with ice tea and orange juice. Everytime she asks for water I would let her choose ice tea or orange.
She continued drinking tawa-tawa, after two days we went
back to the doctor for another blood platelet count.
Fortunately, his platelet count was almost perfectly nornal. We were so surprised for the fast recovery of
my daughter. After that check up, she still continued drinking the tawa-tawa juice I prepared for her. We were all amazed how the tawa-tawa cured my daughter from dengue fever.
This weed is indeed easy to find, they just grow wild in the grass and found anywhere.

nagka dengue na kasi and husaband ko,na remember ko sabi ng doctor nya wala talaga gamot para sa dengue..just adequate fluid intake and rest lang…gawin nyo na pinaka tubig ang tawa…napaka effective for a few hours lang wala nang lagnat.

Hi! Tawa tawa is truly a wonder or miracle weed. I’ve proven it to my daughter who has fever with a low platelet
count several years ago. I also shared the weeds to friends
who have problems dealing with dengue and they testified that
it truly works. Thanks to our old folks amazing discoveries.
We don’t really have to spend a lot of money bringing our loved ones to the hospital when dengue occurs.
